Yeah, so, we know we're late updating the main page with this week's new podcast. We were totally not slacking, either- We got a bunch of new computers and internet set up at our offices (hooray), but with that came a delay for you, our loyal viewers. With our apologies comes Podcast 48, finally fresh off the servers- And those who already saw it on iTunes say it's one of the best ones. What do you think? The PAX DVD is a chronicling of one of the world's biggest video game expos, spanning five discs, with keynotes, panels, concerts, and more! It'll be on sale in the Penny Arcade store sometime in May. Be sure to check it out when it drops. (Did I just say "drops?" Seriously?)
Anyway, the Mega64 Podcast #47 is up as well. In this episode, we give a little commentary on our newest video, as well as the two latest videos on IGN's Insider service. Watch below, subscribe to the left- You know how it go. ("You know how it go?" I said that too?)

We also really, really want to redesign the site soon. With RSS and all that junk. But man, we're having a lot of problems. We'll fix it soon, though. I hope.

-So we've been doing exclusive video content for IGN Insider for a while now, which you should totally subscribe to. As most of you "gamerz" know, today marks the release of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 2 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. We at Mega64 traveled to Las Vegas to film some ads for the game, and you can now watch them online!

3/4/08:MEGA64 DIRECTS FREEZEPOP'S "BRAINPOWER" MUSIC VIDEO! (AND ALSO PODCAST 39 BUT yeah that's not as good)
This past week, we had a video we did a while back leak out in a few places, so we thought we'd just show the definitive version ourselves- Mega64's first music video, for the song "Brainpower" by Freezepop, is now up on Youtube for people to see! And the people are seeing that the DIRECTING WORLD IS CHANGED FOREVER
You may recognize the song from one of our favorite games, "Rock Band." It was a really massive honor to get to do the video for that song specifically, much less for Freezepop! Those of you who know us at all know that we love Freezepop to death- We've featured them in a zillion of our videos. Once again, somehow, we were able to bring this full circle enough to do a video with them. And the result? Well, for being kind of short notice with no budget, we think it turned out alright. See what you think.
We don't have it up for download or anything just yet, because I think it'll be available through iTunes soon instead. Or something. In fact, we're not even sure where this video's supposed to be showing up, so don't be surprise if we suddenly yank it down or something.
Oh... wait, you're done with all that? Well, uh... watch Podcast #39, then, I guess. It's got little to no Freezepop in it, but there ARE Sabritones.

2/25/08: MEGA64 RETURNS FROM GDC WITH THEIR INDIE AWARDS VIDEOS!
So as you may have heard, Mega64 once again provided videos for the big awards show at the Game Developers Conference. This year, though, their videos instead focused on the independent games. Was the Mega64 crew indie enough to do the game industry justice! Watch these new videos to find out!
We had a great time at this year's GDC, and we'd like to thank each and every one of you that stopped by to say hello to us. Every year you guys make it really special for all of us.
My favorite thing about GDC is how every time we go, we seem to have one defining moment that makes us realize, "Wow, this was totally all worth it." This year, for me, it was Jason Della Rocca, after winning his Ambassador Award, coming down to tell us that Ralph Baer, the father of modern video games, apparently looked like he was going to have a heart attack during our awards intro video. Now of course we love Mr. Baer and everything he's done for video games, and would never wish any ill will unto him. But just the fact that we even heard that spoken to us was just a mindblower- How the hell did we get here? I mean, really? (Love you, Ralph).
There should be a new podcast tomorrow. We didn't really have time to make one with the show running and all, so expect it to be pretty weak. Hey, we just gave you four new videos, what more do you want? I'm gonna go take a nap.

1/31/08: FIRST MEGA64 WEBISODE SERVED WITH A CLASSIC SKIT!
We are pleased to announce the release of Mega64's first online Webisode! Our webisodes are going to be little story-pieces centered around the characters of the Mega64 world. Our first one features Dr. Poque, creator of the Mega64, as he receives some fascinating business advice from his co-conspirator/roommate, Horatio. It's called "Poqueoblog."
Of course, people who have bought our DVDs before are already familiar with these characters. A lot of people on the internet don't realize that our DVDs feature half-hour episodes, with a mix of characters/storylines and Mega64 video game skits mashed all together. It's for that reason today that we're also offering up a classic skit from our archives- The Luigi's Mansion skit.
So basically, if you've already seen our DVDs, then you've already seen Luigi's Mansion. But hey, enjoy a new segment featuring our characters! If you haven't seen our DVDs but hate anything with a storyline, then just watch Luigi's Mansion. This is absolutely win-win, here, people.
It's really weird for me looking back at the Luigi's Mansion video. I don't know if it still stands up. I think it was kind of scary for us at the time, because we were still new at the whole thing, and we were kinda messing up somebody else's house. But now I look back and realize that all we were really doing was vacuuming. I think if we filmed this today, we'd have probably more directly towards peoples' faces, culminating in an angry soccer coach trying to take our camera away. Oh, and we'd all be shirtless. Maybe that's saying something about where Mega64 is really heading.
Anyway, a few news items:
-We will once again be doing the videos for the Game Developers Conference. This year, we'll be doing some slightly stranger videos for the independent games award ceremony. It'll be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco on February 20th, so y'know, if you already have a badge for that thing, come check it out. And say hi to us, because we'll probably be walking around there all week. And probably lonely.
-Yes, we directed a music video for Freezepop, but no, we have no idea where it is right now.
-The PAX 2007 DVD, featuring the full-length documentary "FanPAXTic!: A Visual Journey of the Penny Arcade Expo," made by Rocco, is projected to be released in late February or early March.
-The site will be redesigned soon, and we just might introduce a new weekly feature with it that our hardcore fans will really, really like.

1/29/08: MAN WHAT HAPPENED TO PODCAST 34?
Yeah, so, in case you didn't notice, last Tuesday's podcast (Number 34) didn't go up as planned. There are server-ish things going on behind the scenes and we just plain couldn't upload it to you.
We're sorry we let you down! We should let you know now, though, that the episode is now online, and you can download it from the links on the left, or watch it below. The only catch is, the Flash version below only has roughly half of the podcast. To get the whole thing, you'll have to subscribe to the feed! (That's not a form of punishment, it's that Blip.TV kinda sucks).
Before we go, we thought we should tell you that our Version 1 and 2 DVDs are just about gone. Actually Version 2 is totally sold out, but Version 1 still has a few copies left. And we seriously mean just a few. Once they're gone, they won't be back at that price again... if they come back at all!

12/24/07: MEGA64 LAUNCHES VIDEO PODCAST ON CHRISTMAS EVE! wow santa thank you
It's Christmas Eve, so I'll be brief here for all our sakes- But honestly, we have to thank you guys for the absolute craziest year Mega64 has ever seen. Because of you guys, three dumbasses in San Diego are living their dream. I show up to our new office every day now and just gasp. I'm about to thrash around in front of a green screen with two of my best friends, and this is my job. This is my job. Whether it lasts or not, we have no one to thank but all of you for making this whole thing happen. All of our expectations have gone far beyond exceeded. We hope in 2008, we exceed yours.
Of course, as always with Mega64 and expectations... you'd better still keep them nice and low.
There's just a few things in the new store now, but we'll be adding much more soon. You won't believe the new stuff. I can't believe anyone's buying stuff from us in the first place. Feh!
Check back later tonight or early tomorrow for our new podcast. It won't be a video podcast, but we're working towards that very soon. You won't be disappointed!

12/1/07: MEGA64 DOES ADS FOR 2007 VIDEO GAME AWARDS, INTERVIEWS NICE OLD PEOPLE AND TOURISTS
We also included a BONUS outtake video from the shoot! We'll be doing that with all three of the commercials we made... which should be released fairly soon. And trust me, they're better than this one.

All of our merch, in one place, in a form you won't quite expect. It'll be quite an experiment! But will it work? Time will tell.

10/31/07: HALLOWEEN MEGA-UPDATE! NEW SUPER MARIO BROS. 3 SKIT! AND THE FULL SLOWDRAW ALBUM TOO! spooky
Behold, our new skit for Super Mario Bros. 3! Straight from the upcoming "Version 3," this skit is pretty much Mega64 at its most simplified. And we'll spoil the ending for you now- The real world definitely isn't ready yet for vehicular footware of any kind. ESPECIALLY if you have to wind it up.
And as if that wasn't enough, we bring a very special gift to all our hardcore fans- After huge demand, Garrett Hunter has finally released the full "Slowdraw the Hungry Eskimo" album. Slowdraw's music has been found in multitudes of Mega64 videos- And now the entire album is yours to own. Oh, I guess I should mention that it's totally free and you can download it right here. We are so happy that Garrett has released this- It's one of our favorite albums ever and it's so cool to see an eager public finally be able to hear it after all this time.
But the ultimate question remains- Which part of the update is better? The skit or the album? Post on our forums and tell us! It's a statistical dead heat!

10/25/07: MEGA64 PODCAST #27 RISES AMONGST THE FLAMES! AND OTHER HUGE NEWS!
We have a few big news items that we're really excited to tell you about. First off- The Mega64 Podcast will soon go video. That's right, enjoy our thrilling podcast in either audio OR video! Look for this to happen sometime in the near future. We're building a set right now for it, which brings us to the next news item...
Mega64 now has an official studio. That's right, we just signed the papers on the official Mega64 Headquarters in San Diego! We're moving in and building sets right now, so we're super busy. It's really surreal to not only have quit our regular day jobs, but to be moving into this huge place dedicated solely to this stupid show we do. It's literally life-changing and once again, we can only thank you guys for this. What an amazing experience.
We'll close this update with pictures of the new studio, and this promise: New skit on the site within the next week, and a bonus gift for all the hardcore fans. See you real soon.
10/16/07: MEGA64 "VASE HOLDER" SHIRTS ON CLEARANCE FOR $6: PRICE DROP- PRESS RELEASE
I have received hundreds of emails from Mega64 Vase Holder shirt customers who are upset about Mega64 dropping the price of the shirts to $6. After reading every one of these emails, I have some observations and conclusions.
First, I am sure that we are making the correct decision to lower the price, and that now is the right time to do it. The Mega64 Vase Holder Shirt is a breakthrough product, and we have the chance to 'go for it' this holiday season. The Mega64 Vase Holder Shirt is so far ahead of the competition, and now it will be affordable by even more customers. It benefits both Mega64 and every Mega64 Vase Holder Shirt wearer to get as many new customers as possible in the Mega64 'tent'. We strongly believe the $6 price will help us do just that this holiday season.
Second, being in technology for 30+ years I can attest to the fact that the technology road is bumpy. There is always change and improvement, and there is always someone who bought a product before a particular cutoff date and misses the new price or the new operating system or the new whatever. This is life in the technology lane. If you always wait for the next price cut or to buy the new improved model, you'll never buy any technology product because there is always something better and less expensive on the horizon. The good news is that if you buy products from companies that support them well, like Mega64 tries to do, you will receive years of useful and satisfying service from them even as newer models are introduced.
Third, even though we are making the right decision to lower the price of the Mega64 Vase Holder Shirt, and even though the technology road is bumpy, we need to do a better job taking care of our early Mega64 Vase Holder Shirt customers as we aggressively go after new ones with a lower price. Our early customers trusted us, and we must live up to that trust with our actions in moments like these.
Therefore, we have decided to offer every Mega64 Vase Holder Shirt customer a free iPhone. Go to Apple's website and ask them for one and they will be cool with it, we talked. Go ahead.

10/5/07: PODCAST 26 GOES UP EARLY! AND SOME OTHER COMPLETELY UNIMPORTANT INFORMATION.
So, we explain this whole thing much, much better on the podcast, but we'll just kinda talk about it here a little too. You can now find Mega64 videos in HD on IGN's Insider service. We'll have a new video on there every two weeks, so subscribe if you're so inclined. The videos are pretty much the most random-ass clips possible, dug deep from the Mega64 trenches (Think the kind of stuff you'd find on our "Mega64 Time" DVD), like bizarre skits, convention antics, footage from our podcasts, and so on! If you're a hardcore fan, you'll love it. If you think it sounds lame, don't worry about it- This won't affect Mega64.com itself in any way. Everything will go on as usual. It's just an extra thing we're doing. And if you're willing to throw IGN a few bucks, we really think you'll enjoy it.
Mega64 is really going through a lot of crazy stuff right now, and shockingly, all of it is pretty positive. It's an insane time for us, but it couldn't be any better. And we know this kind of thing sounds cliché to say, but... it really is because of you guys. Seriously. For some reason, you guys just keep coming back and watching our stupid videos. Just you doing that has changed our lives so radically. We'll talk more about all this stuff happening as time goes on. I think you'll be pretty shocked by a lot of it... just like we are, day after day.

9/29/07: HALO LAUNCH VIDEO OUTTAKES AND PHOTO GALLERY! BOTH ARE ACTUALLY BETTER THAN HALO 3. I'M NOT EVEN BEING REMOTELY FACETIOUS HERE.

9/22/07: PODCAST #25 RELEASED! MEGA64 ON SPIKETV MONDAY NIGHT AT 12:30!
As you may have heard in Rocco's recent tell-all interview on Coin-Op TV, Mega64 has plans to release a new segment on 9/25/07, at 12:30AM on SpikeTV's "Gamehead." We've also been told it might be showing up on Xbox Live that same night too in High Definition.
What could this segment be, you ask? Well, think really hard about what game might be coming out that same night, and we think some of you brainiacs just might be able to piece it together!
The skit will also be on our site a little later too, of course.
So there, quick news update. We almost might be ready to finally make a big announcement regarding something cool with Mega64 soon. We're really excited about it. We hope you are too.

9/3/07: WASTE YOUR LABOR DAY ON MEGA64 PODCAST #24
We just put up the 24th episode of the Mega64 Podcast! We spend this one talking about our PAX experience, as well as the other usual hogwash. There's no work today so you have no excuse to listen (like you have a job anyway)!
If you happen to enjoy watching Mega64 clips in HD, you'll be pleased to know that from now on, every single new Mega64 clip will be in High Definition. But don't worry! Just because each video will be higher resolution and gorgeous doesn't mean they won't still look totally unprofessional. And isn't that what Mega64 is really all about?
So, after watching the V3 trailer, some of you might be thirsty for a new Mega64 DVD, like, right now. Some of you claim that "Mega64 Time" just wasn't enough. Well, we MIGHT have some sort of consolation prize for you. We'd like formally announce here that Rocco Botte of Mega64 has been put in charge of filming and editing the PAX 2007 DVD! When he wasn't at the Mega64 booth, he was off filming the craziest parts of the convention in glorious HD. We're not sure when the DVD will be finished or released, but we think it's safe to assume there'll be some Mega64 convention antics in there somewhere. We'll keep you posted!
Come back later this week- We're hoping to have a delayed Podcast #24 for you, plus, our Tetris shirts will finally be back in stock! We had some leftover from PAX, and apparently you guys wanna buy them, so hey, why not throw 'em in the online store? Look for 'em soon.
We know this update has been PAX-heavy, but we really do want to thank each and every person there who was either at our booth or our panel. You guys made this one of the best conventions we have ever been to. Some of you guys even wrote about our panel... or filmed us playing Rock Band (should we be creeped out?). In any case, thanks for being there. You guys were an absolute joy to hang out with for a weekend, and it meant a lot to us.

4/17/07: NEW "LOCAL LEADERS" VIDEO! MEGA64 BACK ON SPIKETV! ALSO PAX wait what
In a shocking turn of events, someone has leaked Mega64's "Local Leaders" video to YouTube! This video was made for Ubisoft as an exclusive video that you get when you buy Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 for Xbox 360. But, as if to shatter Ubisoft's dreams forever, some cretin uploaded it to the popular video site, YouTube! So we thought, if it leaked, we might as well show off our leak, right? Watch the video, soak it in, and if you want to download a fancier version of the video to your hard drive... buy the game, I guess?
If that new video doesn't do it for you, you may be better off just watching our recent Super Mario Bros. skit for the 600th time. But what if I said that this time, you could watch it on national TV? That's right, Mega64 is making another appearance on SpikeTV's "GameHead" on Friday, April 27th! It's a Shigeru Miyamoto tribute show, and they'll be showing our SMB skit we filmed with him, plus a bonus segment featuring the Mega64 crew giving their take on the genius that is Miyamoto. Watch it, won't you?
Also, we just signed up to do something called "PAX." We thought that was either a TV network, or a Kevin Spacey movie. But I guess it's some convention? Oh well, it'll probably be dead, but I guess we'll be there anyway! More on that later.

We have brand new shirts on our Merch page! We're celebrating a beloved moment from our Version 1 and 2 DVD's with this epic new shirt design. With artwork done by Mariel Kinuko Cartwright, this shirt FINALLY immortalizes the epic meeting between Shawn as a certain beloved hero, and that one long haired dude outside of the bowling alley.
We're also here to tell you that we really want to show you the ad we did a month ago for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, but I guess it's still on an exclusive Ubisoft site... somewhere. We actually haven't heard from anyone who saw it... BUT MAYBE UBISOFT WILL TOTALLY BE LIKE "PUT IT ON YOUTUBE, BRO!!!!!" I'll ask them. I'll get back to you on it.
We also wanted to tell you really quick about the aftermath of our latest Super Mario Bros. skit featuring a certain "special guest." Every day from filming the skit until now has been pure insanity. It looks like the clip is going on to become the most downloaded Mega64 clip ever made. We've gotten advertisement offers (most of them bad), offers to run the bit on national TV (which looks like it'll happen soon, actually), and some stuff I can't talk about that has absolutely floored all of us. I want to thank you guys for spreading this thing around! And special thanks to our guest in the video... for, you know, doing some pretty cool stuff too.

3/5/07: THE QUICKEST NEWS UPDATE EVER
We're about to fly off to GDC, but we wanted to let you know that if you plan on buying the new "Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2" game for the Xbox 360 this week, expect to get a new Mega64 video- Apparently when you buy the game, you get a link to a secret website that has a mysterious video (made by us here at Mega64) on it. This video is undoubtedly, unarguably the best video ever made for a game, so you definitely want to buy Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 just for that.
We also wanted to apologize for the Version 1 DVD not being back on sale yet- The place where our DVDs are shipped from is moving locations, so it's taking a little while. We'd say we'll have them back on sale within a week, two at the worst.

2/26/07: THE RELEASE OF PODCAST 12! THE RETURN OF MEGA64 AT GAME DEVELOPERS CONFERENCE! THE REVENGE OF THE VERSION 1 DVD! THE REEDUCATION OF LAURYN HILL!
We're also here to announce that for some bizarre reason, we got asked once again to do the videos for the Game Developers Conference awards show in San Francisco! Look for some new videos from us throughout the night, as they give awards to people like, uh... that one game about the plumber, whatever it was. If you're attending the show, do stop by and say hello!
We're also happy to announce that the "Mega64: Version 1" DVD has FINALLY been reprinted and will be back in stock later this week! Our 7th podcast episode is up, and it's a Christmas special! Listen to the gang recap their experience at the mindblowingly amazing SpikeTV VGA's, while Rocco attempts to drink a gallon of whole milk, and Shawn's girlfriend Jessica does the same with a gallon of eggnog. As you may imagine, it's a real pleasant listen.

Our sixth podcast is up! Give it a listen, eh? It's recorded on location at an actual, real-life Chili's restaurant. Your dream of being able to hear crying babies and tortilla chips in the comfort of your own home has come true.
And coming soon: Look for all three of our SpikeTV VGA ads on Xbox Live Marketplace on your Xbox 360! The elusive third one should be up soon... it's a strange one, though. I'd say it's almost positive it will brick your Xbox. Get your receipt ready.

11/22/06: NEW VGA COMMERCIAL, BEHIND THE SCENES INSANITY, PODCAST 5 FROM THE WII LINE, AND OTHER CRAP I BET!
We also have a new podcast up! It was recorded straight from the Wii line in front of a Wal Mart down here in San Diego county. It's a little late because we had to lessen the ambient sounds (namely, crickets and guys driving by in trucks with airhorns yelling "ENTENDO FAGS!")
After all that insanity, we thought we'd take a moment to say how proud we are of Mega64 right now. As you know, the Mega64 crew are pretty big fans of Jackass and the CKY videos- they really helped inspire our own show. This week some of the guys from those very productions gave us a very nice plug on Bam Margera's Sirius Radio Show. It was just an offhand remark, but just that little thing really felt like it was bringing Mega64 full circle. It was a good feeling. We should chase it. I think we will.
Then we got word this week that Yahoo News is choosing to do a story on us, in a segment about successful websites (I guess if by "successful" they mean "pissing people off in bad costumes," then we fit the bill). They actually want to come along with us on the filming of some new segments! They're literally sending a cameraman who just got back from covering the war, so hopefully he'll be brave enough to handle one of our grueling skits.
And even though we hit a speedbump with our MTV bits (The Smash Bros. bit never aired because they ran out of time, and according to them we "never should have expected it to air." Alright.), it's still been a pretty rad couple weeks. Thanks to everyone who's been along for the ride (Including you, Shawn Chatfield). 11/16/06: QUICK NOTE ON MTV, GBSTV, SPIKETV
Just a quick news update: We have no idea what happened with the Super Smash Bros. bit we made for MTV, or why it didn't air. But they've been airing our Ghosts and Goblins and Tetris videos in full force during the show "Blastazoid." The segments are hosted by some of our heroes- Rake Yohn and Brandon DiCamillo from Jackass and the CKY videos, which totally floored us!
It'll be on tonight, Thursday the 16th, at 8PM (As well as many, many other reruns throughout the week).
We also wanted to let you know that on Thursday, November 24th, the day after Thanksgiving, we'll be having a Mega64 Marathon on the popular web TV station GBSTV! It's every episode of season 1 and 2 back to back, hosted by the Mega64 crew! Get your Christmas shopping done, heal your trample wounds, and then spend your entire evening watching Mega64 goodness, eh?

11/8/06: MEGA64'S ADS FOR THE SPIKETV VGA'S! MEGA64 ON MTV'S "GAMER'S WEEK!" NEW PODCAST! OH MY GOD
We also want to let you know that we'll be appearing on MTV next week for their "Gamer's Week" event thingy. We have a quick 30 second "Super Smash Bros." clip that will run on MTV throughout the week- You'll see it first on November 15th at 8PM in the show "The G Hole." It's seriously super short, but kinda cool, eh? I mean it beats them re-running another gay episode of Next.

It's exclusive to Gamespot for a little while, but soon we'll have links to download it and put it on your PSP and whatnot. Remember, this is only part one of an EPIC trilogy, where ordinary backyard wrestlers are whisked away to the mystic world of Might and Magic! Also, dudes get lit on fire.
You should also know that second Mega64 Podcast is now online! If you want to hear smack-talk, feedback, and deafening sound effects ripped from a Seinfeld VHS tape, you DEFINITELY want to hear this episode. We're gonna try to have a new episode of the podcast every other week. Think we'll stick to it? You never know!!*

Yeah that's right, instead of just idly chatting with each other on a Sunday night and NOT recording it, the Mega64 crew has busted out the CompUSA clearance recording equipment to record a podcast for your listening pleasure! It's pretty much us just talking crap for an hour, about games, movies, stories from behind the scenes of some of our crap, etc. So if that's something you'd like to hear, listen away! Ha ha... sucker.
Our Might and Magic videos should be online any day now! We're also told that the videos are now going to be "hidden easter eggs" in the new game, Dark Messiah. So don't look for us on main menu or anything... we're hiding.
We also just got done filming today for that ad we've been hinting about for a yet-unreleased console. Let's just say filming went well, and it continues the fine Mega64 tradition of people getting absolutely pissed off over really, really stupid stuff. You WILL love it.

Folks, I think the proof is in the pudding. Thanks for supporting us and be sure to come back real soon, as our trilogy of Might & Magic: Dark Messiah videos are going to be online very, very soon. We've also received confirmation that at least two of those videos WILL actually be included with the game itself! Maybe you should wait for that... any video series called "BACKYARD MESSIAHZ" deserves to be seen in the highest quality possible. We might also have some other surprises to announce. Could it be a return to more HD videos on Xbox Live? Could it be something for a new, strange, way-cheaper-than-the-Playstation-3 system? Oh, just you wait! No seriously, wait. We'll be back.
